Acne is a common skin disorder that creates inflammation, irritation, pimples, and cysts commonly found on the face, neck, back, and shoulders. Your body naturally keeps the skin moist by producing oil through the oil glands in your hair follicles.

However, when your hair follicles get clogged with excess oil and dead skin cells, bacteria start to grow, and this causes pimples and blemishes to appear.

Acne is most common among teenagers going through puberty but can appear in people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities.

The most common types of pimples are:

  • Whiteheads: white-colored pimples under the skin’s surface
  • Blackheads: black-colored pimples on the skin surface
  • Papules: tender, small, pink bumps
  • Pustules: pimples with pus on the top and red on the bottom of the lesion
  • Nodules: hard, large, painful pimples that arise deep in the skin
  • Cysts: pus-filled, deep, painful pimples that often result in scars

Dermabrasion

This procedure involves an electrical machine that scraps away from the top layer of your skin. The surface appears smoother and fresher as your skin heals from the process.

Chemical Peels

A chemical solution is applied to remove the top layer of your skin by your dermatologist. Your skin will exfoliate & regenerate, often improving in appearance.

Laser Resurfacing

Ablative laser resurfacing is a procedure that uses a wand-like laser instrument to remove the upper layers of skin from acne scarring—sometimes called “laser peeling” since it removes old skin cells to reveal newer, more radiant skin.

Phototherapy

A blue light source helps decrease the number of acne-causing bacteria. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, blue-light therapy is the best-known light therapy for acne treatment.

Microneedling

Microneedling for acne scars works by penetrating the top layer of skin with tiny needles, which increases collagen production where the micro-wounds are. The excess collagen acts as a ‘filler,’ smoothing out the skin around the scars and improving overall appearance.

Dermalinfusion | DiamondGlow™

Dermalinfusion or DiamondGlow™ Dermalinfusion will Hydrate, Exfoliate skin with a Diamond tip as well as infuse specific serums from skin medical. Treats hyperpigmentation, acne, dehydrated skin and helps minimize pores for healthier skin.

ENDYMED Fractional

EndyMed treatments offer a powerful and lasting solution to many skin concerns, especially acne scarring. EndyMed’s unique 3DEEP system allows radiofrequency technology to penetrate three layers deep into the skin. As this energy reaches the deeper layers of skin, it reactivates collagen production for smoother, fresher skin.

Oxygen Facials

Oxygen facials are helpful to those who suffer from severe acne and are looking to improve their complexion. Oxygen facials can reduce and eventually eliminate the bacteria in the skin that cause acne and may also prevent it from developing in the future. They can benefit those with acne, making their skin clearer and more youthful.
